• Rachael Abell – School Committee Update 
  • New superintendent has a large focus on waiting a longer time before giving kids  devices that access internet 
  • October 8th register to attend free night at the Cabot about connections between screen time/social media and mental health 
  • Many student issues that are encountered in school tie back to screen use 
  • Talk to front office if you’re not receiving Friday evening email updates from Superintendent 
  • Next school committee meeting is next Wednesday, if you’d like to address the committee
  • Some items on agenda: competency determination, October 1 enrollments, funding challenges with cuts to title grants and funding sources that have been changed, stepping through policy document
  • Municipal election November 4th 

  Sarah Aiello – Beverly Education Foundation Update 

  • Cummings Foundation grant gives $1,200 a year to us for programming 
  • Last two years went to enrichments and science club 
  • Put towards the planetarium visit and other enrichments as they come 

  Ryal Side Day Debrief 

  • $913 spirit wear sales, $125 on raffles 
  • Ideas for next year 
    • No slip and slide without volunteers at the top and bottom 
    • More food options 
    • Easier facepaint (not oil based) and some stencils to make easier for volunteers 
    • More games, activities for kids 
    • Make your own bracelet in school colors
    • Lean more into Ryal Side aspect, Ryal Side businesses 
    • Bring less swag 

  Halloween Trunk or Treat 

  • Ticketing and volunteer sign up out by end of this week
  • Rain date Thursday, October 30th 
  • Trunks, games, concessions, same as previous years 

  Fall Frolic 

  • Need 4 more volunteers from our school 
  • PTO table decorating pumpkins 
  • Know by October 9/10 how many pumpkins are being donated, Kyle will let us know so that we can figure out if we need to purchase any 

  Pictures in the Park 

  • This Saturday and Sunday at Lynch
  • 4 spots left 

  Election Day Bake Sale 

  • Polls open from 7am-7pm
  • Volunteers needed – volunteer link and flyer 
  • Two weeks notice 
  • Baked goods dropped off on 3rd, volunteers set up night before 

  Stuffie Sleep Over

  • November 7th 
  • Looking for volunteers 6-9pm 

  Yearbook Committee starting 

  • All grades represented
  • Anyone can join

  • Meeting a couple times, picking theme

  • Tastebuds Kitchen offered November 12 or 13, after school at Tastebuds Kitchen, $35, break into 2 groups K-2 and 3-4?

  • Teacher representative from each grade to pick an enrichment more aligned to the curriculum – goal 
  • Staff loved jump rope presentation 
  • Writing club

  • Can subscribe, will sync to your Google calendar 
  • Has no school days, early dismissal, events
  • Not everything has a notification 

  Spirit Wear Online 

  • Google form on PTO website 
  • Alexa stocking from home 
  • Can send home with kids at school 

  Classroom Contact List 

  • 150 signed up at Curriculum Night 
  • Ask Mrs. Hart to send out again 
  • Brooke will send out to classroom parent reps who can distribute to families on list 

  Mr. B requests to buy an eagle costume, would PTO sponsor?
