PTO Updates

General Notes:

  • Goal: Expand outreach and recruit more volunteers.
  • Meeting Schedule:
    • Moving meetings from the 1st Wednesday to the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM (to avoid overlapping with early release days).
    • Exception: November meeting will occur on the 3rd week.
  • Keep on the Radar:
    • Need to fill the following roles for next year: President, Bev Ed Liaison, Yearbook Coordinator, Library Volunteer.

February (TBD) Super Bowel Squares -Coordinate with the Polar Plunge; re-engage last year’s organizer.
February 26th Family Movie Night -in lieu of Music bingo

-Potential to have a venue host 

-Reach out to venues (Cabot, Salem Theater)

March (TBD)  Adult Night Out -“Bring Back Summer” indoor cornhole tournament planned by Carmen & Jesse

-Target venue: Beverly Elks or Franco American

-Proposed dates: March 6 or March 20

April 9 Stuffie Sleepover -Include a mini sleep mask for each stuffie.

-Potentially raise the price to $7

May (TBD) Red Sox Outing -Great seats last year; update booking system so families buy directly.
Spring TBD Tattoo a Teacher -Lunchtime event; target end of year (short-sleeve weather).

-Meredith to consult Ms. Hart.

 Apparel & Merchandise (Spirit Wear)

    • Current Inventory: Leftover tie-dye items (hats, water bottles, keychains).
    • Upcoming Sales Events:
      • Tiptoe to Kindergarten: Sale for old merch to clear inventory.
      • Orientation (8/31): Launch new swag.
    • New Orders:
      • Ordering 80 new Kindergarten T-shirts.
      • Adding new adult T-shirts (hold off on new adult sweatshirts for now).
      • Introducing a new color shirt and a baseball/trucker hat.
  • Action Item: Create a survey for members to vote on hat style and logo options.

Book Fair & Teacher Support

  • Revamping the Fair: Exploring options outside of Copper Dog (due to full retail pricing and volunteer demands). Evaluating Best Books Fairs as an alternative.
  • Wish Lists:
    • Introduce Teacher Wish Lists for the Book Fair.
    • Ask teachers for general wish lists in March in conjunction with Teacher Appreciation Week.
    • Check in on teacher feedback regarding “Give Back Week” (Meredith following up).

School Improvement Projects & Wishlist

  • Bike rack (4th grade did gift some- they were returned)
    • Could potentially be a 4th grade gift this year
      • Thermometer or potentially a QR code to donate- maybe put it in the spot where the bike rack will be 
  • Mrs. Campbell is interested in risers
    • Meredith will check in on which one, how many they need etc
    • Maybe there would be a grant opportunity 
    • Sound system is also something but may be a longer term goal
  • Updated books in the library
  • Potential Outdoor classroom

Dine-Out Nights

  • Dine-Out Nights: Kyle will coordinate two events from the following restaurant candidates:
    • SuperSub
    • McDonald’s
    • Giuseppe’s
    • Hale St.
    • Bonefish Harry’s
    • Big Chicken
