Budget Update

• Treasurer: Joanna Bent
• City finally has invoiced us for the playground: we have paid
• Joanna has taken over
• In general everything is fairly similar
• Budget will be posted for all to see
• We now will have to pay a new tax account
• No questions for budget

Beverly Education Foundation update

• Sarah Aiello
• Non profit that supports teachers, staff, and families
• Provide grants in the spring 
• $1200 a year to be used towards enrichments from the Cummings Grant
  • Last year it went to Change is Simple
  • The year before used it towards a few different enrichments
• Meri will meet with Mrs. Hart next week and discuss this and get back to Sarah before the 20th 
• Ayers will need a new rep next year, because Sarah will no longer have a student at Ayers next year, she would love to be able to show someone the ropes
  • Commitment is monthly meets, usually Tuesdays about 1 hr
  • Helping with projects etc. 

Grant opportunities overview

• Paulette Bakis- grant writer this year
• Started applying in August- many grants out there are through national PTA
  • We have never been registered
  • If we do register its $250 a year and gives an opportunity to get grants anywhere across the US
  • Grants for items that we can apply to – opens us up to more opportunities
  • 25 people need to say they support us joining the national PTA
  • Kyle R would love to help with grant stuff
• Would like another bike rack

Sneak peek at upcoming enrichments

• • Meg Cunningham
  • Curriculum based enrichment programming with teachers by grade- that is still being organized
  • Meg will work with Mrs. Hart and the teachers to decide on categories
  • Oct 26th Palumi Nubi- Author Visit
    • Her story is about adventure and experiences 
    • There will be 3 sessions (K, 1/2, 3/4)

• She did come last year, more geared towards younger students- is there something different that she can do for the upper grades

• Acting for Youngstars- Fridays after school

October 11	Fall Frolic	-signup genius -will go out in newsletter -City wide, split the proceeds across all the schools  -Looking for volunteers -Tent with pumpkin stickers

October 30	Trunk or Treat	-First committee meeting Monday September 28th -On  Zoom  -biggest event – would love to have as many hands as possible helping with that
November 3rd	Election Day Bake Sale	-need volunteers
November 18	PTO Meeting #3	Note: This is the 3rd week in the month
December 9-11	Book Fair	-New book fair this year Best Books Fair -Can take profits in cash or books for the schools  -Cash profits range from 10-28% (12.5% first year)      -if in books 20-50% -Help set up and train the volunteers -Set up the Wednesday night and pick up either Friday afternoon or Saturday morning  -Waterfall of books with their custom built racks  Looking for hours- during school? After school? Potentially tap into the library volunteers -do shifts of signing up
March 27th	Adult Night Out	-“Bring Back Summer” indoor cornhole tournament planned by Carmen & Jesse -Location is the Beverly Elks -Summer themed get together -not as many raffles as the past few years -more of a community event and less than a fundraiser -It is the night before Easter- Meri will reach out to Carmen

Open floor for goals / ideas this year:

• Mr. Bouchard offered his speakers or mic for any of the PTO events for the years
• Mr. Bouchard shared an idea for a Date Night- Movie Night
  • Teachers run it they would have kids do something outside for 30 min 
  • Then disperse and watch a movie in a room 
  • Charged like $20 a night 
• Idea: Judeth Fortune Altidor- Karaoke/Talent Show type of night
  • Children, adults, teachers, parents can participate
  • Sign up pay a fee
  • Talent show type fundraiser
  • Maybe partner with the Ryalside Civic Association

Questions from Teachers: 

• How much money are they getting from field trips: 
  • Same as it was in previous years
  • Cover buses
  • 10-15 for kids 
  • Financial hardships we will cover
• Reimbursing teachers for classroom supplies
